IPERU MINI STADIUM PROJECT RECEIVES BOOST AS OGUN-OSHUN RIVER BASIN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY CALLS FOR EXPRESSION OF INTERESTS

The long-anticipated Iperu Mini Stadium project has gained significant momentum as the Ogun-Oshun River Basin Development Authority officially invited contractors to submit expressions of interest for its construction. 

This announcement, made on Monday, 16th September 2024, was published in national newspapers, marking a major step towards the execution of the stadium in Ikenne Local Government Area, Ogun State.

The call for expression, according to a release issued by Tope OYEKAN Liaison Officer and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Chairman, Iperu Mini Stadium Project Committee, is part of the Authority’s 2024 Supplementary Appropriation Act and is in accordance with the provisions of Section 25 of the Public Procurement Act 2007. 

The project consists of two primary components: Lot D29A for the construction of the Mini Sports Arena, and Lot D29B for the construction of roads and other essential amenities at the stadium site.

Otunba Denny Ibrahim Oladipupo, Chairman of the Iperu Mini Stadium Project Committee, expressed his delight over the progress. He commended the Managing Director/CEO of the Ogun-Oshun River Basin Development Authority, Engr. Deji Ashiru, FNSE, for his proactive steps in ensuring the project’s swift execution. Oladipupo also extended his appreciation to His Royal Highness, Oba Adeleke Adelekan Idowu-Basibo (Odoru V), the Alaperu of Iperu, for his unwavering support and dedication to the project.

Alongside the stadium construction, the Authority also announced tenders for building a dam, irrigation systems, and greenhouses in Iperu, highlighting a broader commitment to infrastructural development in the area.

Engr. Ashiru, during a recent visit to the Alaperu, had promised a six-month completion timeline for the stadium, generating excitement among residents and stakeholders. The Iperu Mini Stadium is expected to enhance sports development in the region and improve the overall infrastructure of Ikenne LGA.
