Islamic Singer Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso Passes Away Years After Her Father's Disappearance

 

Prominent Nigerian Islamic singer, Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso, has passed away. The announcement of her death was made on Tuesday morning by Islamic media platform, Volume3 TV, through its official Facebook page.

Rukayat Gawat was revered for her enchanting voice and her substantial influence in the Islamic music world. Her spiritually inspiring songs deeply touched many in the Muslim community, where she enjoyed a strong following.

Beyond her own achievements, Rukayat was the daughter of Alhaji Aremu Rasaq Gawat, a renowned broadcaster and musician whose disappearance in 2012 remains an unsolved mystery. Alhaji Gawat was famous for hosting the popular E dide E ji saari Ramadan program on NTA Lagos Channel 10. His vehicle was discovered abandoned on Eko Bridge shortly after his disappearance, sparking ongoing speculation and concern.
