Efforts Underway to Restore Power in Ward E1, Alimi Assures Residents

Residents of Ward E1 (Odogunyan) in Ikorodu North LCDA can expect relief soon as efforts to restore stable electricity supply intensify.

Alimi Lekan Idris, a councilorship aspirant and immediate past chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Committee (JCC), Lagos Axis, has taken proactive steps alongside community leaders to address the power crisis.

On Tuesday, Alimi, accompanied by the Chairman of the Community Development Association (CDA) of Atunluse (Odo Nla Road) and a zonal executive of the ruling party, visited the Agodo Power Station to assess the situation firsthand. Their inspection focused on the transformer responsible for distributing electricity to key areas in the ward.

Following the visit, Alimi confirmed that progress is being made, with a replacement transformer—though not brand new—already secured. However, ongoing repairs to fix an oil leakage are delaying full restoration. In the interim, another transformer is being managed to provide temporary power supply.

"As part of these measures, power was restored around 4 AM but had to be turned off by 7 AM while repairs continue," Alimi explained. He reassured residents that he has also engaged senior management at the electricity company's ALOGBA office to expedite a lasting solution.

Acknowledging the inconvenience faced by the community, Alimi urged residents to remain patient as efforts continue. "Please remain assured that we are actively monitoring the situation and will keep you updated on further developments," he added.

The intervention underscores Alimi’s commitment to grassroots development and community welfare, aligning with his broader vision for leadership that delivers tangible impact.

Residents await further updates as stakeholders work toward a permanent resolution to the power challenge.
